Alistair Forbes
Alistair is a tech entrepreneur and investor who has worked in and with many early and growth stage businesses in Scotland and around the world. He is a passionate supporter of projects that harness technology for impact and is committed to making the Scottish Tech Army a vibrant hub for tech for good initiatives and activity across Scotland, creating scalable change and a step change in impact.
Kirsty McIntosh
Kirsty has a business background in sectors as diverse as construction, architecture and technology. She has a reputation for being an ‘ideas engine’, capable of seeing things differently which she says stems from a never-ending curiosity about the world. She’s a natural communicator and relationship builder and is one of the Scottish Tech Army’s “First Responders”, having signed up on day one.
Charlotte Canham
Charlotte Canham is a digital marketer who found her calling in the world of digital and media. Through the kickstart scheme, she joined the Scottish Tech Army in October 2021 and has been on a continuous learning and growth journey. With her passion for digital marketing, Charlotte is poised to make a lasting impact in the industry as she continues to evolve and contribute to the ever-changing digital landscape.
Peter Jaco
Peter is a tech entrepreneur and angel investor who sits on the CivTech Advisory Group. He chairs tech start-ups CyberOwl and Immense Simulations and has worked on over twenty start-up projects. He believes Scotland has a unique technology ecosystem with world class talent and he is keen to welcome as many techies as we can to the Scottish Tech Army to solve many current and future challenges.
Joanna Allen
Joanna has spent over 20 years helping global companies navigate through complex strategic and business transformations. From global trading systems to the global brand campaigns to the Ryder Cup - the best bit is always who you work with and the impact you have. When Joanna is not enjoying the sea, she is working on her other passion - tackling the climate crisis.
Joe Cross
Joe Cross, our Volunteer Experience Co-ordinator, came to the STA from a background in Social Science after graduating with a degree in Geography from the University of Dundee in 2021. Having initially started as an Intern, Joe has worked on his development and skills to create a position within the organisation and work alongside volunteers and stakeholders to deliver projects for charities throughout Scotland. Joe can often be found walking his whippet “Rizzle” on the beach.
Sandy Finlayson
Sandy was a co-founder and Senior Partner at Edinburgh-based law firm MBM Commercial. He sits on the CivTech Advisory Group and served for four years as Chair of Converge Challenge, Scotland’s leading company creation programme for all Scottish Universities and Research Institutes. Sandy has also held and continues to hold many other advisory and Chair roles with third sector organisations.
Michael von Euw
Michael has an international business management background in manufacturing and hospitality, specialising in ERP systems. He has experienced first-hand the importance of pairing the correct solution for the task at hand. With a passion for further learning and education, he believes that knowledge should be shared and nurtured to help bring out the best in people.
