AND Digital delivers first Tech for Good Alliance project
AND Digital and the Scottish Tech Army are delighted to report on the successful completion of the first project to be delivered within the framework of the Tech for Good Alliance. This new initiative was launched by the Scottish Tech Army to drive the development of the Tech for Good ecosystem in the UK by building a bridge to connect the resources of leading companies in the tech sector with the digital needs of organisations in the third sector.
The Glasgow Spirit of Christmas campaign was founded in 2014 by Cultivating Mindfulness, with the aim to help provide Christmas gifts to vulnerable children within Glasgow and its surrounding areas. Through the generosity of donors, these children are able to wake up on Christmas morning and enjoy a gift given with love.
AND Digital and the Scottish Tech Army, have been working in partnership with Cultivating Mindfulness to help improve the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas website for better user experience and usability.
In addition to the original ask of making improvements to the DSOC web site, AND Digital has helped GSOC improve their processes to manage donations or pledges. By engaging with stakeholders, the project team was able to explore the current processes and suggest valuable improvements that could be implemented quickly. GSOC’s reporting requirements have been improved by adding reporting capabilities in their current management system. AND Digital also defined current system challenges in order to help improve the digitalisation of manual processes.
Dapo Richards, Product Analyst at AND Digital, comments: “The enthusiasm and passion from the GSOC team inspired a great collaborative working environment. The GSOC team was quick to welcome new ideas, brainstorming sessions and willing to honestly communicate about the issues they were facing.”
Julie Griffin, Chief Executive at Cultivating Mindfulness, adds: “The project team has been able to provide a lot of very helpful upgrades. All of these have made the process a lot more efficient in so many ways for so many roles, allowing us to deliver more with the resources we have.”
The AND Digital team aims to continue supporting Cultivating Mindfulness in the new year, to help implement further changes to the website design and improve its functionality and customer experience for the donors.
Alyna Karim, Associate at AND Digital, says: “An important part of our culture at AND Digital is to provide guidance, support and learning opportunities to our local communities. We do this through our technical expertise but also focus on ways of working across teams. Through the partnership with the Scottish Tech Army, we have been given this wonderful opportunity to work on the GSOC project. It was great to be able to make an impact quicky and we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the team and understand how the charity works.”
